And why not come and explore Île-de-France when camping with Sandaya this summer? Book your holiday rental at the gateway to Paris, and stay in a tent, a cottage or a quirky cabin, on an island in the River Seine! On the other side of the Saint-Germain forest, Poissy is waiting to reveal all its treasures. Take the children off for a great breath of fresh air in the vast park that surrounds the Château de Villiers or to admire the remarkable architecture of the Notre-Dame collegiate church, only a stone’s throw from the Toy Museum.
If Poissy has quenched your thirst for discovery, your family-oriented campsite is perfect for enjoying total relaxation and innumerable activities with all the family. Why not start the day in the water park as you switch off and unwind in the heated swimming pools, then it’s time for a tennis, pétanque or badminton tournament on one of the outdoor sports grounds!
Visit Poissy with the family
On a gorgeous summer’s day, there’s no better way to begin your visit to Poissy than by wandering through the Meissonier Park. In days gone by the parkland belonged to the royal monastery, today the 10ha of this English-style garden are ideal for a stroll with the family, notably along the banks of its pond or through its rose garden. In high season, the children will even be able to explore by donkey for a truly memorable outing!
Before returning to your Sandaya campsite, take a moment to visit the Toy Museum in the former Royal Priory of Saint-Louis, a listed historical monument. An opportunity to see how games and toys have evolved since antiquity; a journey through time certain to amaze the children and maybe even the oldest amongst you!
Visit Poissy as a couple
In search of a peaceful excursion to enjoy together, just the two of you? Head for the banks of the River Seine in Poissy and a moment of gentle tranquillity. The perfect opportunity to discover Poissy’s ancient bridge, whose arches once stretched for nearly 400m across the river. It’s easy to imagine the mills that used to tower above the water, at a time when Poissy was a renowned fishing port.
Yearning to simply go with the flow? Jump aboard for a cruise and discover Poissy from the Seine. This is where the greatest impressionist painters once set up their easels, a delightful way to end the day on a romantic note!
