On holiday at one of our campsites on the Atlantic coast set off with the family to explore the treasures of Bordeaux, here at the edge of the Landes de Gascogne forest. Take a cruise on the Garonne, a bike ride along the quayside or a visit to the Grand Théâtre... There is so much to see during your camping holiday near Bordeaux!

Visit Bordeaux with the family
Setting off to explore Bordeaux with your youngsters? Take our advice and get on your bikes! With its vast network of cycle paths and bike hire docking stations, this city in the Gironde is a paradise for cyclists of all ages.
With your hair in the wind, you’ll adore pedalling along the attractive Garonne quayside and past so many of its treasures: the Saint-Pierre district with its neo-classical monuments on the left bank, the flower-filled gardens and open-air “guingette” restaurants with music on the right bank. And, as tea-time approaches, it’s time to stop off in the Bordeaux public garden, an officially listed “Remarkable Garden” no less! What better setting to sample one of the city’s emblematic sweet treats, the delicious canelé, in front of the puppet theatre, the oldest of its type in France!
Visit Bordeaux as a couple
After the endless beaches of golden sand on the shores of the Atlantic it’s time to head for Bordeaux and a romantic city break! On foot, by tram or by bike, it’s so easy to get around town to discover its emblematic places and hidden treasures. Wine-lover? Head for the Cité du Vin and a journey through the vineyards of the world. Even if wine isn’t your tipple it’s still worth a visit, if only for the panoramic view from the top of the Belvedere!
On a fine summer’s day there’s little to beat strolling through the city’s botanical garden before heading to Darwin, a contemporary district with an alternative culture and convivial ambiance. As night falls, admire the sublime Place de la Bourse as the city lights reflect in the famous water mirror. An enchanting spectacle that you really shouldn’t miss!
