Camping Festival of the Sea in Capbreton

The highlight of the year in the town of Capbreton in the Landes, the Festival of the Sea is an opportunity for the town to pay tribute to its rich maritime heritage. During the entire weekend, games and entertainment take over the heart of the town, whilst the various stands or “casetas” and their delicious produce, welcome you down on the seafront. As evening falls, concerts and shows bring the first day of the festival to a perfect end!

On Sunday, the festival enters its more solemn phase with a traditional mass to pay tribute to sailors lost at sea. Then it’s back to fun and entertainment until, finally, it’s time to head out to sea for the wreath-laying ceremony.
