The Alpes de Haute Provence, the ideal destination for your camping holiday

For all those who love white water sports, hiking through nature at its best, pure fresh air and picturesque villages, the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence couldn’t be better for getting away from it all! With its rugged contours, and the incredible diversity of its flora and fauna, this land of rich and unspoilt scenery offers holidaymakers a multitude of activities to try, both in low and high season.

Set at the heart of this breathtaking panorama, your Sandaya campsite makes the ideal starting point to explore the surrounding area that overlooks the turquoise waters of the Verdon. On-site, your tree-shaded pitch or fully-equipped cottage is ready and waiting for you to start your stay. And once you’ve settled-in, it’s time for those activities you’ve been looking forward to: multisports ground, pétanque, mini-golf... and bathing in the swimming pools of the large water park!

Discover the Alpes de Haute Provence with the family

Nowhere else will you find water as beautiful as that of the Verdon! So grab the family and set off to follow this emerald river that has carved the largest canyon in Europe: the Gorges du Verdon. The perfect opportunity to try your hand at white water sports with the kids: canyoning, rafting, canoeing...

And for relaxing and bathing, the equipped beaches of the Verdon lakes are simply unbeatable. Both offer the prospect of blissful sunny afternoons! So don’t miss taking a trip to the largest of them, the Saint-Croix Lake, a paradise for water-based leisure. And when you’re not swimming and diving, settle yourself on the shady banks to enjoy a delicious picnic as you dangle your toes in the water!

Discover the Alpes de Haute Provence as a couple

After bathing, it’s time to discover some of the picturesque villages for which the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence are so justly renowned. Sisteron, Manosque, Castellane and Entrevaux, Provence is rightly proud of its magnificent built heritage, set-off to perfection by the surrounding natural landscape.

From the Valensole Plateau where fields of lavender stretch as far as the eye can see, it’s time to head for Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, officially listed as one of France’s most beautiful villages. Perched high above the Saint-Croix Lake, this famous centre for ceramics gives every impression of being a life-size Provençal crèche. Fall under the charm of its narrow streets, fountains and little squares for a romantic stroll, arm-in-arm!
