Each year, the Whitsun weekend sees the return of the renowned Nîmes Feria to the no less famous arena in the heart of the town. A veritable tribute to Spain and its culture, the “corridas” have always formed an integral part of this major event, ever since it was first held in Nîmes in the 19th century, in the arena that is today an officially-listed historical monument.
In addition to the bull fights, the entire centre of the town of Nîmes is taken over by Spanish culture, the perfect opportunity to travel west, all the way to the Iberian peninsula, during your holiday in Occitanie. Get together in the bodegas, pop-up stands selling paella and sangria, applaud the “peñas” or marching bands, watch the “bandidos” as the bulls run loose through the town streets, dance to the rhythm of the street concerts...
