Just like a real life film set, the whole of the town of Saint-Tropez dresses in red and white for the famous Bravade, celebrated each year on 16, 17 and 18 May. The colours, those of the privateers, pay tribute to the militia who, under the command of the Town Captain, defended Saint-Tropez against pirate attacks in times gone by.
This unique fête with its underlying solemnity opens a fascinating window to Saint-Tropez’s past. Come and see the musketeers as they parade through the town to the chiming of the bells and the dramatic sound of the drums and blunderbusses. Mingle with the crowds as they acclaim the new Town Captain, responsible for defending Saint-Tropez!
