Lorient, the ideal holiday destination!
This summer set your heading for Lorient in Brittany, a city steeped in history and the departure point for a trip to the sublime island of Groix. Founded by the French East India Company in the 17th century, Lorient has so many tales to tell and so much history to reveal in its narrow streets and museums, and all the way to the endless sandy beaches of the Gâvres Peninsula.
Just a few short miles from the capital of the Morbihan, you’ll find your perfect refuge at our campsite in southern Brittany, in a luxury mobile home or on a tree-planted pitch. On-site, a water park with covered and heated swimming pool, sports grounds and even free mini-clubs await you to release all that pent-up stress and tension. In Lorient or nearby, come and fall under the unique charm of southern Brittany... and our Sandaya campsite!
Visit Lorient with the family
Heading off to explore Lorient with the kids? Then you certainly won’t be short of ideas to spend a superb day with all the family!
One of our favourite attractions is without doubt a visit to the submarine Flore-S645 that has now been turned into a museum. So collect up the family and follow the interactive visitor trail to discover day-to-day life “twenty thousand leagues under the sea”. An incredible experience! Then let the adventure continue at the Eric Tabarly Cité de la Voile, an amazing centre that will immerse you in the very heart of the oceans: 4D cinema, sailing simulator, fun visitor trail... You’ll soon know all there is to know about life on the waves!
Visit Lorient as a couple
Make the most of your Sandaya camping holiday in Brittany to pay a visit to the island of Groix, pearl of the Atlantic Ocean and only 45 minutes off the Lorient coast.
First step on your romantic trip: hire a bike, the favourite means of transport for all who live on the island. After stopping off in Le Bourg, the main village, to stock up on salted butter caramels, it’s time to head for Les Grands Sables, a fabulous stretch of sand renowned as being Europe’s only convex beach. Then pedal along the wild coast to reach the famous Pen-Men lighthouse, reputedly the most powerful in the Morbihan. Opposite you, all the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean and the wonderful feeling of being alone in the world!
