The Clef Verte label, the hallmark of our commitment for the planet
The aim of the Clef Verte label? “Promoting the development of sustainable, eco-friendly and socially responsible tourism in France and abroad”.
Being awarded such a label is recognition of the hard work that goes into reducing the tourist industry’s ecological impact, but it also responds to the demands of consumers, who increasingly seek to reduce their carbon footprint while on holiday.
What are the criteria? This quality label is based on around sixty essential criteria, split into a number of themes. These criteria are reassessed on a regular basis to remain at the forefront of developments, and to comply with the latest environmental requirements.
To obtain the coveted seal, the applicant’s environmental approach must meet over a hundred criteria in all areas of sustainable tourist management.
Who sits on the jury? The jury is made up of partner organisations or experts in tourism and the environment who are recognised as authorities in the field of sustainable tourism. The jury members include Atout France, CCI France, the French Directorate General for Enterprise and the FNHPA (the French camping sector federation).
