Dog Friendly Camping : book your stay

Your dogs are welcome to come camping with Sandaya!

Our aim here at the Sandaya campsites? To ensure that you spend a fabulous holiday with all those you love best, including your four-footed friends! So no need to find someone to look after the dog: he’s welcome at our 4 and 5 star campsites, whether on a camping pitch or in a mobile home. Although current legislation imposes restrictions on certain categories (breeds listed as guard dogs or attack dogs), all the others will quickly feel at home on our vast tree-planted estates!

When they’re not busy playing on your camping pitch or on your garden furniture, then they’ll be begging for a walk along the beach or to go exploring the mountain footpaths. There’s nothing better to get a great breath of pure fresh air, for them as well! And since, after a long day of doggy activities, Fido might just need a bit of a clean-up, some of our campsites even have dog showers just for him. So your faithful companion can return to his holiday basket all squeaky clean and everyone can sleep soundly in their beds!

We are proud and happy to announce that Sandaya has been awarded the “Qualidog” label by Emmène Ton Chien, a website listing “dog-friendly” accommodation. To rank campsites according to the services on offer for dogs, the label counts doggy noses (from 1 to 4) instead of stars! A happy dog means a happy owner, and we do all we can to help!

Our great ideas for your campsite holiday

Allow €5 for a pitch and €8 for a rental unit, per night and per dog, to accommodate your pet. A question? Contact the campsite, they’ll be delighted to help!

Forget those tearful good-byes when you head off on holiday! This year, your bundle of fur can come with you wherever you go.

Within the campsite, your canine companions are always welcome... as long as they stay on a lead!

Fields as far as they eye can see, endless stretches of sand, vast forests... Your dog is going to love his new playground!

Walks in the fresh air, a run on the beach, a hike over the mountainside, etc. Water sports activities will also be on the programme with a canoe-kayak trip with your four-legged friend on board and even bathing areas for dogs near the campsite.

Sandaya benefits from the “Qualidog” label, the guarantee that your dog will receive a proper welcome at each of our dog friendly campsites. Awarded by the EmmeneTonChien website, it rewards campsites that offer your faithful companion the very best care.

Nothing should be left to chance for a successful holiday with your dog. Especially when it comes to the choice of destination. Here are our top dog friendly campsite destinations in France:

For the perfect holiday with your dog, a few precautions need to be taken before you leave home. And, since it is often a last-minute rush when you go on holiday, here are some tips to make sure you don’t forget a thing:

•    Vaccinations and healthcare: your dog’s health is your number one priority. Before a stay at one of our dog friendly campsites, it is important to make sure that all your pet’s vaccinations are up-to-date. A quick visit to the vet is also recommended to ensure that everything is fine before you set off on holiday.

•    Identification and papers: it is a legal requirement for your dog to be identified either by a tattoo or an electronic chip. Are you planning a campsite stay with dog outside France? If so, remember to bring your European passport with you. This is also a legal requirement.

•    Essentials: its basket and favourite bowl, its most chewed ball, its preferred food, etc. In short, everything needed for your dog’s everyday life during your holiday at a campsite that allows dogs with swimming pool.

•    Follow the campsite’s rules: to ensure that everything goes well during your campsite stay with your dog, it is important to follow a few rules. Please keep your dog on a lead and dispose of its waste using the bags that are available on request. And to ensure the peace and tranquillity of all, please make sure that your dog does not bother the other campers.
