Water park, free children’s clubs, sports activities and the ocean nearby... who could resist such an invitation?
Visit the island of Tatihou with the family
On the island, one activity is likely to appeal to all the family – observing the wildlife in its natural environment at the ornithological reserve. This 3-hectare sanctuary is home to 150 different species of nesting birds, migratory species or occasional visitors. A visit here will bring joy to your children’s faces and fill their hearts with lasting memories.
Before or after a visit to the reserve, stop off at the maritime museum for an enjoyable dose of culture. Inquisitive young minds will browse around the archaeological collections including the wrecks of the royal fleet sunk in the 17th century. There are also collections on the island, its formation and its fauna and flora. And to end your family day out on a high, climb up the Vauban Tower, included on the UNESCO World Heritage List with its twin at Saint-Vaast-la Hougue. From there, admire the magnificent views of the coast and the island.
Visit the island of Tatihou as a couple
Take a stroll, hand in hand, and pick a backdrop to suit your mood. Opt for the coast, the old stones of the Vauban towers, or the greenery of the maritime garden... it doesn’t matter where you are as long as you enjoy the present moment with that special someone! And to top off the romantic experience, why not share a picnic beside the sea, just the two of you?
If you enjoy both sport and music festivals, you’re in for a treat. Get some exercise and your fill of music during the “Les Traversées Tatihou” festival held every summer. You’ll start by crossing over on foot at low tide, then once on the island, it’s time to enjoy music inspired by the sea, its rhythm set by the tides. Music, walking and the sea – the perfect combination on the island of Tatihou.
