Normandy never does things by halves when it comes to paying tribute to the French and foreign soldiers who fought to defend Freedom: official ceremony attended by several heads of state at Saint-Laurent-en-Mer in the Calvados on 6 June, celebrations on the D-Day Landing beaches – Omaha Beach, Utah Beach, Juno Beach, etc. – concerts, parades, parachute drops and much more will be on the programme of festivities.
It will also be the chance for young and old alike to rediscover this major event in modern history through the museums devoted to this theme, the D-Day Festival in the first two weeks of June, the military parades and historical reenactments organised all around Normandy, from Ouistreham to Arromanches.
