To join in the festivities in celebration of 14 July, France’s national day, head for Murol in Auvergne and be part of its traditional revolutionary celebrations. For the event, in this small village nestling at the foot of the Sancy Massif, the locals parade in period costume to relive the time of the French revolution: mini plays, cavalcade, historical re-enactments, entertainment... The whole village travels back through time and you’re all invited to join in the fun!
To bring the day to a wonderful end, the traditional 14 July firework display is launched from the village’s highest point: the famous Murol Castle. At the foot of the fortress, or from your Sandaya campsite, come and watch the show and admire the castle as it takes on a thousand colours!
