Each year, the Côte de Nacre commemorates one of the most memorable episodes in its history, that of the D-Day landings in Normandy. Amongst the allied forces that came to liberate Europe were troops from Acadia, that region of Canada where innumerable French immigrants settled in the 17th century. This Acadian week, a symbolic event for both France and Canada, is a festival of concerts, workshops and children’s entertainment, in addition to the screenings of historical documentaries, all organised to promote Acadian culture amongst the general public.
Your Sandaya campsite in Normandy invites you to make it a date at Courseulles-sur-Mer and the surrounding area, to join in this historical event with all the family: dances, creative workshops, face painting for children, parades of vehicles from yesteryear, concerts... Come and be part of the celebrations at this commemorative fête in the Calvados, in honour of an Acadian culture that really deserves to be better known!
