Carnon, the ideal holiday destination!
Well-known to all those who live in Montpellier, the Carnon beaches enjoy a truly special natural environment on the Mediterranean shore. Wilder and more intimate than those of their neighbour, Palavas-les-Flots, their soft fine sand, dunes and woodland areas stretch for 7km. You could hardly dream of a better spot for an afternoon’s lazing, sun-bathing or beach volleyball!
Just a few minutes from the beaches at Carnon, your campsite in the Hérault is waiting to welcome you for a fabulous stay as you explore Montpellier and its region. On-site, enjoy a gentle holiday in the sunshine of southern France: relaxation and bathing in the water park with its swimming pools and waterslides, activities on the shady sports grounds, evening entertainment on the restaurant terrace... And as night falls, return to the comfort of your accommodation in a lodge tent, a fully-equipped cottage or on an authentic camping pitch. Welcome to your new home away from home!
Visit Carnon with the family
Thanks to its unusual location, Carnon offers two very different aspects to explore with the family. To the north, set off to play the naturalist around the peaceful waters of the Étang de l’Or, a vast unspoilt area that combines dunes, beaches and lagoons. Keep your eyes wide open: whether walking or cycling you’re set for a fascinating encounter with the flamingos, you are entering their domain!
Time for a little well-deserved relaxation? Head south to Carnon-Plage where the sand stretches endlessly all the way to La Grande-Motte. Gently shelving, the pretty beaches of Le Petit and Le Grand Travers are ideal for bathing with all the family!
Visit Carnon as a couple
With its long dunes of soft fine sand, its beach restaurants and its ever-welcoming water, there’s no doubt about it, Carnon-Plage is an idyllic spot to share a moment together, just the two of you, far from the city. But why stop there?
From Carnon, follow the dunes and continue your journey until you reach La Grande-Motte and then on again to Le Grau-du-Roi with its scenery from the ends of the earth. Welcome to the Petite Camargue! Here are just a few of the unmissable spots to visit before taking the road back to the campsite: the L’Espiguette beach and its 10km of soft fine sand, the marina at Port-Camargue and the salt marshes of Aigues-Mortes. Enjoy your visit!
