Vendres Plage, the ideal destination for your holiday
Lying on the border between the Aude and the Hérault, the charming village of Vendres is a natural paradise where dunes, lagoon and Mediterranean all come together. It is hardly surprising that Vendres attracts so many visitors, with its unspoilt environment offering a delightful charm all of its own. Having been spared large-scale tourist developments, Vendres has retained all its authenticity!
In the heart of this protected area, your 4 or 5 star campsite welcomes you to the Mediterranean shores for a peaceful holiday under the southern sun. Whether you choose to stay in a tent, campervan or fully-equipped mobile home, you’ll be able to enjoy a very special natural setting just perfect for getting away from it all! But one thing is certain, bathing will be an all-essential part of your voyage: between the endless sandy beaches and the heated swimming pools of the water park, get ready for a holiday with your toes in the water!
Visit Vendres Plage with the family
When camping at Vendres, the beach is set to be the children’s favourite playground! Behind its long line of protective dunes, the sandy shoreline bathed by the Mediterranean stretches all the way from the mouth of the Aude to that of the Hérault. Picnics, lazing in the sun, building sandcastles or simply strolling with your feet in the water, there'll be no shortage of activities to enjoy all day long, here on the beach with the family!
When the sun gets too hot, discover the bliss of diving into the gentle waves of the Mediterranean: the water’s always lovely! Your little adventurers will even be able to try out the watersports of their choice: fun-tubing, SUP, jet skiing... And to make the most of that precious family time, why not hire a boat for the day, with or without license!
Visit Vendres Plage as a couple
In addition to its long sandy beach, Vendres has plenty of other cards up its sleeve to ensure you have a truly great holiday down on the Languedoc coast. What better than listening to the peace and quiet as you wander through the countryside? Slip into the shoes of a naturalist for a stroll arm-in-arm along the shores of the Étang de Vendres. One of the largest lagoons in Languedoc-Roussillon, it is even home to a few special residents such as herons and bitterns that you may be lucky enough to spot during your walk.
Then off to Grau de Vendres, and treat yourself to a delectable break in the charming Port du Chichoulet as you sample the local shellfish. All that remains now is to follow the banks of the Aude as far as the beach, for one last dip before returning to the campsite!
