Les Vans, the ideal holiday destination!

You can stop searching for your next camping holiday destination and head straight for the Ardèche and the village of Les Vans. Here, where the Ardèche meets the Cévennes, you’ll be able to switch off and recharge your batteries, visit the local Ardèche heritage and indulge in your favourite outdoor activities, whether you come with the family, your significant other, or a group of friends

So, what awaits during a stay at one of our Sandaya campsites? The best possible camping experience, and nothing less! Come with the family, your special someone or with a bunch of friends and you’ll all find something to suit you. In fact, everything has been designed with you in mind, from the lovely heated water parks to the free children’s clubs for your budding young campers... and all that with the Gorges de l’Ardèche and the Pont d’Arc for glorious surroundings. Just fantastic!

Visit Les Vans with the family

Make sure your gang are prepared – their holiday in the Ardèche is going to be action-packed! The toughest thing will be choosing from among the many outdoor activities available in the region, including climbing, pot-holing and horse riding. Whatever they pick, campers big and small will take home a treasure trove of lifelong memories.

And if your adorable bundles of energy are still buzzing, take them along to the “Accroche-toi aux branches” tree-top adventure park. There are special trails for every level so your wee cherubs can play at Tarzan and Jane in complete safety. They will LOVE it!

Visit Les Vans as a couple

Like the Gorges de l’Ardèche, the Gorges de Chassezac provide white-water sports enthusiasts with plenty of opportunities to pursue their passions. Here, aquatic enjoyment comes in multiple forms, including canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding and canyoning! If you prefer to take things a little easier, you can enjoy a swim, a siesta on the riverbank, eased by the gentle lapping of the water, or a traditional fishing session.

Take the car or hop on a bicycle to the Bois de Païolive wood for a romantic escapade. This unique site, inhabited by bizarrely shaped limestone sculptures, is ideal for a hike hand-in-hand with your loved one. You’ll feel completely cut off from the world, far from the urban hustle and bustle... and it’ll feel amazing!

Camping Les Vans: our handy tips for a successful stay

A picnic on the riverbank is sure to please the whole family! Your little ones can have fun splashing around in the water while you parents enjoy a bite to eat in the sunshine.

For inquisitive visitors, Les Vans is home to 3 museums, one of which is dedicated to the father of orthopaedics, Léopold Ollier. Probably not one for the faint of heart!

Make sure you visit Balazuc and Vogüé, two villages nestled between land and river officially listed among “the most beautiful villages in France”. You’ll fall instantly under their spell.

And how about food in the Ardèche? There is no unnecessary extravagance to be found here – just mouthwatering, high-quality local produce. So, indulge yourself and sample the full range of charcuterie, cheese, wine and sweet chestnuts!
