Visit Port-Louis with your family
Formerly a major sea port, it is not surprising that the town is home to not one, but two museums devoted to its maritime past: the National Maritime Museum and the East India Company Museum. The first is devoted to the history of sea rescue and underwater archaeology, while the second, with its rich collection, recounts the wealth of trade with the Orient. A perfect activity for all the family!
Before or after your cultural break, put on your swimming costume and apply some sun cream and make your way to Grande Plage at the foot of the citadel! Lay down your towel and set off to enjoy the pleasures of the water. Swimming galore, crab fishing, building sandcastles or lazing in the sun, there's something for everyone by the ocean!
Visit Port-Louis as a couple
On foot is still the best way to visit Port-Louis! Hand in hand with your other half, stroll along Grande Rue, the town's main thoroughfare where you will find many shops and restaurants. Next, set off on an old sailing ship bound for the island of Groix and enjoy a spot of lunch on board.
If you want to continue on the theme of water, the coastline of Brittany is the perfect place for water sports. Stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, kitesurfing and even surfing (yes, you read that right!), ride the waves on the vessel of your choice and take advantage of this romantic interlude by the sea.
