A trip to the Chauvet 2 cave will be an exciting day out for all the family, taking you back to Prehistoric times. This UNESCO-listed cultural landmark houses a replica of the 36,000-year-old cave paintings found in the original cave, plus a gallery displaying life-size prehistoric animals (including a mammoth!). A destination you won’t want to miss!
The next step on your sporty family day out – the “Accroche-toi aux branches” tree-top adventure park where you can pretend to be Tarzan and Jane and have fun in the trees! There are different trails suited to every level, so your little monkeys will have a fabulous time swinging from branch to branch on a thrilling adventure! On an unforgettable romantic escapade in the Ardèche, there’s one activity you simply must add to your agenda, and that’s hiking. Slip on a good pair of shoes and a backpack and set off on one of the many hiking paths that criss-cross the area. Another activity that requires a good dose of energy and a strong pair of legs is cycling, so why not take a trip along the Via Ardèche greenway? As you pedal along, you can admire the gorgeous scenery and villages, such as Ruoms, Sampzon and Vogüé. The latter even features of the list of the “Most Beautiful Villages in France". A wonderfully relaxing and romantic ride that ends in this exquisite Ardèche village… just magical!

Did you know? The village owes its prosperity to sericulture, in other words silkworm farming. These days, it mainly lives from its vines, chestnut trees and olive trees. Nature is generous in the Ardèche.
Ribes is home to a unique historical relic: the Merovingian tombs. These treasures can be discovered after a hike so if you’re a history buff, you’ll need your walking shoes!
Like many Ardèche villages, Ribes prospered thanks to silkworm farming, or sericulture. Today, the pride of the village is picodon, a delicious goat’s cheese. Feel free to indulge!
In Ardèche, chestnuts are a star attraction! They are even showcased in their own museum and the chestnut trail will help you discover the different varieties of chestnut tree as you enjoy the fresh air. Ideal for families and couples.
