Camping Saint-Georges-de-Didonne

South of Royan, Saint-Georges-de-Didonne is a typical Charente seaside resort where you can get away from it all to its ocean beaches and pine forests. Less popular than its neighbour, you'll be able to make the most of it with a revitalising visit just a few minutes from your Sandaya campsite.

Saint-Georges-de-Didonne, the ideal holiday destination!

From the Pointe de Vallières in the north to the Pointe de Suzac in the south, the scenery of Saint-Georges-de-Didonne is picture postcard! Enshrined between two cliffs and fringed with live oak trees, its long beach draws holidaymakers keen to refresh themselves beneath the sunshine of the Charente-Maritime. With watersports, hiking trails and amazing ocean views, you've really got the lot for a lovely day here during your stay on the Côte de Beauté!

And just a few minutes away from here, very close to Royan, your camping Sandaya is the perfect place to stop for combining amazing accommodation with exploring the region. If you wish to make the most of a well-earned rest, come and enjoy a bit of the good life in the heated swimming pools of the water park, or how about a bit of exertion on our sports grounds. While the kids can get together at the free mini clubs, come and enjoy a bit of relaxation on the terrace of your mobile home; because that's also what holidays with Sandaya are all about!

Visit Saint-Georges-de-Didonne as a family

Well-known among holidaymakers, the huge beach of La Grande Conche shared by both Royan and Saint-Georges-de-Didonne, is the ultimate family destination. People of all ages can enjoy a wide range of watersport leisure activities here with the family and you'll never have trouble finding somewhere to put your towel down!

With your hiking boots on, set off for a stroll in Suzac forest south of Saint-Georges-de-Didonne. Looking out over the beach, this is home to the famous Estuary Park, a nature centre which will reveal the secrets of its protected landscapes. Entertainment, games, shows, workshops and more! The makings of the perfect outing to learn and have fun at the same time!

Visit Saint-Georges-de-Didonne as a couple

While the Grande Plage is a must-see in Saint-Georges-de-Didonne, the resort is also overflowing with little inlets lapped by the Gironde estuary, which couples especially will enjoy. To find them, head for the Pointe de Vallières, which is accessed from the Boulevard de la Corniche. At the foot of the lighthouse, you'll find your own little bit of paradise from which to take in the view of the Bay of Royan, to the north, and the Bay of Saint-Georges-de-Didonne to the south.

And to enjoy a spectacular seaside view, head for the Pointe de Suzac: a little path enables you to go along the coast, from where you'll be taking your best ever holiday snaps!

Camping Saint-Georges-de-Didonne: our handy tips for a successful stay

Freshwater enthusiasts should head for the banks of the Lake of Enlias, where waterslides and swings will be a sure-fire hit with the kids!

On the Pointe de Suzac, see the Fort of the same name, whose task it was to defend the coast during the Second World War.
