And Jard-sur-Mer is certainly no exception: 7km of coastline bathed by the ocean, endless unspoilt beaches offering happiness for holidaymakers of all ages. One site that never fails to draw all eyes is that of Le Payré, an officially-listed “Grand Ensemble Naturel”, it’s the jewel of the local area. Come and admire it in all its glory!

Visit Jard-sur-Mer with the family
A family-oriented seaside resort par excellence, let Jard-sur-Mer be the backdrop to all your seashore adventures. From the La Mine beach to that of Boisvinet, its coastline is one of long beaches alternating with low cliffs, its footpaths ideal for walking. On the programme for your stay with the family: bathing, picnicking and simply putting your feet up and relaxing!
To the north of the resort, the Payré headland offers an exceptional panorama. The first “remarkable site” in the Vendée, admire Le Payré as you make your way from the Le Veillon beach in Talmont-Saint-Hilaire to that of Jard-sur-Mer. And for your return journey, opt for the hiking trail through the forest. Its unspoilt flora and fauna make it such a special spot.
Visit Jard-sur-Mer as a couple
Ocean, marshes or forest: Jard-sur-Mer’s most gorgeous landscapes are all within easy reach. And to explore the region in record time, what better than getting out and about by bike: follow us for a romantic excursion made for two!
Our favourite round-trip: the cycle track that links Jard-sur-Mer to Bourgenay via the oyster harbour of La Guittière. Here, in the heart of the marshes, take a break to sample the delicious local oysters, with their official “Vendée Authentique” label, in a setting that’s as authentic as it is unspoilt. And since you’re on the other side of the Payré estuary, why not stop off on the Le Veillon beach for a refreshing dip?
