First step: hire your bike at the campsite
Whether or not you’re an old hand at cycle tourism, you don’t necessarily want to take your bike with you when you head off on holiday. Not just cumbersome, it also adds considerably to the weight of your already well-filled suitcases. But in that case, how can you enjoy your favourite means of transport once you’ve arrived? No worries, your Sandaya campsite is here for that!
Most of our holiday villages offer an on-site hire service with bikes for the whole family. Bicycles, mountain bikes, e-bikes or simple accessories, you’ll find exactly what you need to head off along the tracks and trails.

Leave the car parked at the campsite
When camping with Sandaya, whether you book a cottage or a campsite pitch, you’ll have your own allocated parking space within the campsite. So why not leave your car parked there? Forget the cost of buying petrol, put the money saved into a special “excursions” or “holiday memories” budget. It’ll make all the difference!
Any bike-lover will tell you: cycling is the best way to truly soak up all the beauty of the scenery! Hair in the wind and senses wide awake, you’ll feel every sensation and miss nothing of each fabulous décor as it flies past. At last you’re in perfect harmony with nature! And, to make it even better, cycling is an excellent way to keep in shape during the holiday.
En-route along the most beautiful cycle tracks in France
Did you know? France currently has over 17,000km of cycle tracks. And that means countless different routes to discover with the family or just the two of you!
On holiday at one of our campsites on the Atlantic coast, enjoy the total freedom of pedalling along the Vélodyssée, the cycle track that follows the ocean shore, from Brittany all the way to the Basque Country.
Another favourite for holidaymakers: the Loire à Vélo circular route. It’s the perfect way to discover the exceptional French heritage that stands on the banks of the royal river. Try the Châteaux à vélo itinerary, linking Chambord, Cheverny, Blois and even Chenonceau for a journey down the Loire and back in time!
If your holiday brings you to Île-de-France, don’t hesitate to take a spin on the London-Paris Avenue Verte, a green route that follows the Seine right to the heart of the City of Lights!
