Bouzigues, the ideal holiday destination!
A delightful little town typical of the Languedoc, Bouzigues is no typical seaside resort. Yet with its authenticity and charm it attracts visitors from far and wide to sample oysters, shellfish and seafood in a very special natural setting. So stop off for a visit during your camping stay in the Hérault, the sunniest of the French departments!
After a cosy night in your fully-equipped mobile home or on an authentic campsite pitch, it’s time for fun: playgrounds and sports grounds, swimming pools and waterslides, to each their enjoyment! And it goes without saying that the Mediterranean coast is ready and waiting, inviting you to enjoy a relaxing moment in its turquoise waves. Unless of course you prefer the crystal waters of the Étang de Thau that bathe Bouzigues?
Visit Bouzigues with the family
Because the beaches at Bouzigues make mass tourism impossible, the seafront of this picturesque Mediterranean town guarantees peace and privacy. The little beaches of soft fine sand that fringe the northern shores of the Étang de Thau are unbeatable when it comes to family bathing!
In Bouzigues itself, you’ll find your own place in the sun on the beaches of La Trémie or La Pyramide, where the water is excellent for bathing. You’ve hired a bike at the campsite? Pedal along the edge of the Étang de Thau to Mèze, where other beaches await you with warm, shallow water and even more pleasure!
Visit Bouzigues as a couple
If you’re looking to spend a romantic day together at Bouzigues, then one spot you really shouldn’t miss is the Étang de Thau museum. Allow around an hour to visit this fascinating museum and follow the development of the age-old oyster harbour. When the sun is at its peak, pull up a chair on the terrace of one of the restaurants along the Avenue Louis Tudesq, facing out across the Étang de Thau. The perfect place to sample some of the delicious local specialities: seafood tielles from Sète, a glass of fruity muscat from Frontignan and, of course, the famous Bouzigues oysters!
And after your meal, it’s time to head for Sète. Stroll hand-in-hand to the heights of Mont Saint-Clair with the superb panorama over the Pays de Thau as your reward!
