Camping Port Bourgenay Festival of the sea

In Talmont-Saint-Hilaire in the Vendée, the Port Bourgenay Festival of the Sea is one of those major summer events that bring everyone together and that locals never miss. In the generous sunshine of August, young and old alike gather on the ocean shore for a series of events organised by the SNSM (National Society for Sea Rescue) and the town of Talmont.

On the programme for the day: sea fishing and the traditional church service in the morning, a veritable feast at midday, accompanied by sea shanties, then sea rescue demonstrations and brass bands in the afternoon. As evening falls it’s time for the village dance down at the harbour before the festival comes to an end with the grand firework display launched over the water.
